I so desperately want to go and see Spring Awakening, the musical. It’s on broadway and everyone I know that’s seen it tells me it’s one of those shows that I absolutely need to see, especially with the original cast. I asked my director how I could get tickets cheaper and faster and she told me about the “student rush” program. You basically go to the ticket box two hours before the show and show them your student I.D. and ask for a student rush ticket, you get a crummy seat ticket which is most likely to be standing and wait til the show comes on. I’m not against it, just, I don’t want to go alone so I’m trying to form a group of kids that want to go with me. Care to come?

I’m sorry I haven’t written much, I’ve kept most of you except for possibly one or two people in the blue about things. My bad. Seriously. I’ve been working on a new layout, which where it might not be the cleanest or most organized layout that I’ve had, it’s completely my own scripting so that makes me happy. It’s dedicated to my new favorite actor, Jeremie Elkaim, and I call it Obsede (accents on the e’s) and yes, it means, Obsessed. It’s simple in the design but it’s one of my favorite pictures of the limited ones you find. Which makes me wonder why.
I recently added Cyrille Thouvenin to my list of guys I think are hot in movies and he has an entire site professionally done for him and I’m like, why not Jeremie? Anyway, more on Cyrille later.
This layout features a nice green scheme, with various different styles and details (what a bitch…). I took out some things and added some things, I wanted to get a comment preview but it’s not working yet >.< but I did add a library script, which I have to thank Viitoria, who gave me the idea, and the creator, Rob Miller. I love this idea and as a huge reader, woo hoo! I’ll have to write reviews for all the books I read, but I don’t mind that. Gives me something to do in my spare time. But of course, I have to read my school books first before anything.
Another neat feature is Cricket Moods, which does the neat little mood tag. I saw this again from Viitoria, but I first saw the idea on Brian’s (he doesn’t want his blog linked, sorry for linking it w/o thinking). But I really think it’s adorable, especially since I can change it with my theme. Major cute and spiffy. Hehe.
And yes, I’ve upgrade to 2.1 Ella! I love it <3 It’s so much nicer now, thank you WordPress -muah-

I discovered I’m in the Top 10% of my school, that’s like fucking fantastic! I’m so psyched, I want to know my ranking now =x I told my mommy today and she was so happy to hear about it hehe.

I had an HRC Conference on Thursday, it was interesting and informative. I think some of them were effective while others were more of a, “Why are you here?” I had fun, not much to say. I knew a few guys there, but amazingly, we all acted dumb. Hah.

I feel a lot better than my last post, which was two weeks ago. I think it’s because I finished one of my major IB Assessments, the Spanish Oral Exam. I passed it, at least from what my teacher tells me. He doesn’t think I’ll score any lower than a 4 out of 7, so hurray for that. And I don’t have anymore college applications to do, just to sit and wait and relax and not commit suicide beforehand. But no, really, I think I’m doing better. I haven’t blazed yet or drank in mass amounts, I took one valium so I could relax the other day but that’s it.
Then there’s Barrias to talk to daily, he’s been a major help. I can’t wait to see him =x he keeps his promises <3 I like that about people.

So within the two weeks I saw two movies that touched me, a lot more than You’ll Get Over It and Come Undone. These movies were french and once again, gay cinema but they kind of just had a different effect on me.
The first movie, The Man That I Love, was just gorgeous. A story between a very much in denial Lucas and a rapidly approaching his death Martin, it was just =x I know it’s probably unrealistic but they started talking, Lucas hating Martin and then slowly Martin lured him in. They began a friendship which is tightened when Lucas discovers that Martin has HIV/AIDS, and then escalates to the point that Lucas was kicked out by his girlfriend and had to move in with Martin. Lucas devotes his life to Martin and supports him until the very end, the end which was just a tearjerker. Just -sobs- I really really enjoyed it.

But unfortunately I enjoyed Just a Question of Love even more. This is the movie with Cyrille Thouvenin, who plays Laurent (I actually like that name, it was a name in one of the video games I played as a kid). Anyway, Laurent already knows he’s gay but because of the death of his older cousin Marc, who died of acute hepatitus, not HIV which Laurent’s family believes since Marc came out to them; Laurent doesn’t come out to his parents because his family disowned Marc, and Laurent loves his family that he doesn’t want to lose them. He fakes a relationship with Carole, who’s his best friend but she’s unsure whether or not she’s in love with Laurent -gasp (it’s Amber!)-
Anyway, Laurent begins to decline in college in which the Dean decides to help him and get him an internship with professor Cedric, who caught Laurent’s eye the other day. The two start off badly since Laurent doesn’t want to do work and Cedric only needs an intern to get a grant, but after being reprimanded by Marc’s boyfriend, Laurent goes and begins his work with the professor. After a while, Emma, Cedric’s mother invites Laurent for dinner and things go well, and later Cedric takes Laurent to his night job and oh boy, after work a “let’s get a drink” transitions to a rather intimate moment in the lab. Some drink…I want a drink like that!
They’re relationship forms…things happen, Cedric wants Laurent to stop hiding and after a mistake from Emma =x things get icky! I don’t want to say too much because I already have and I have to say, it’s such a good flick. What I liked about it is that it showed me what my mother went through when I came out, and how much of an asshole I was to her about it. What does that have to do with anything? I called my mom this morning to apologize to her for being such a shitty child during that time.

Spring Awakening was fucking amazing, and yes, you do need to see it with the original cast.
You can get reserved on-stage seats online for something like $31.50.
It’s better to see it from the audience the first time so you can see everything that’s going on, but on-stage for that price is SO worth it. Get those seats and go.
Try to get seats on the right side, closest to the front of the stage as you can.
Failing that, the left side, closest to the front of the stage as you can.
GO GO GO.
