Another Boy Kissed Me Today

Another boy kissed me today, I laughed in his mouth. It’s not funny that I’m not kissing you, I’m not laughing because we fell through.

Lyrics to quite possibly one of my newest fixations in terms of music. I know that when it comes to music, my taste is definitely interesting and probably off the beaten pathway. But I really do adore this artist, Jay Brannan, I found him through MySpace and I’m happy that I did. Other than the fact that I think he’s cute, I’m really liking his voice. It’s so soothing. I wish I knew my artists better so I could tell you what he sounds like, but honestly, is it that hard to click the link and visit? The song that’s being featured in this entry’s title is called “Ever After Happily”.

I like this song because it kind of makes me realize that the world isn’t set up like Disney movies in terms of romance, which I know has a heavy influence on my love life. The fact that the boy didn’t say “I love you” or give me flowers or pay for my dinner or buy me a ticket are all things that had a huge impact on whether or not I’d see them again. Now I’m not so bad, I’ve learned to appreciate other things- the more important things. Anyhow, the chorus to the song is one of my favorite choruses for any song =x

Well that’s the way the fairy tale goes, oy meets girl and they wed with roses but that’s not the way it seems to be and i’m pissed that they lied to me. ‘Cuz boy meets boy and boy runs away, or girl meets girl and she’s afraid to stay. We end up home alone watching court tv, not living ever after happily.

I think this might be one of the first artists, other than Dan Pujdak, that I’m eager to see an actual CD release so I can buy it. I thought it was really cute, on Jay’s youtube, that he talks to the viewers a bit. He seems like such a cute guy, hah.

So I’ve had that long lapse where you look at the run of events for your day and you say, “Wow…nothing interesting happened.” That’s pretty much been life for a while, I mean, I’ve been super excited because I got accepted into Parsons. That’s been keeping me on a good buzz for a while, granted I can’t help if I’m cranky from being tired. But still, good high good high.

And if something interesting happened, I went to type and suddenly said, “I’ve lost the will to type this entry…” and end up trashing it. Which I must apologize to my Despair, Rouged and Exentrique. I’ve had that post for far too long =x

Thursday, March 29th 2007. My school sponsored the Senior Fashion Show, which is my class’s last attempt to raise money for prom. I definitely know prom is going to be expensive because my grade is extremely lazy. So yes, this was a much needed event that ran smoothly.

I had two outfits, one from a little boutique called STO and the other was a tuxedo from Victor Talbot. I liked my STO outfit a lot more, it was more…fun versus the tradition black tuxedo. I was so angry when someone got to wear a purple tuxedo!

The theme was international, lamest theme ever. Good in concept but for our school, completely sucked.

After three months of inactiveness we finally had our first Chamber Singers rehearsal, so far we’re singing “Music of the Night” and “Rhythm of Life”. I don’t care much for the Phantom of the Opera piece, -gasp- did he really just say that? YES I DID. Phantom is a great musical, don’t get me wrong, but don’t be one of those damn annoying I’ve never seen another musical but Phantom and it’s the best of the best! kind of people. If you’ve seen various musicals and know ANYTHING about theater than I take your opinion seriously. But to the girls that have seen Phantom more than ten times but never another show, why not shut up and go get tickets to Chicago, Spring Awakening (I still need to see that…), Spamalot, Avenue Q, Wicked…JUST SOMETHING ELSE!

And “Rhythm of Life” is such an awesome piece, it’s so energetic and spiffy and yea…fucking awesome! We have a third piece that’s TBA, I’m so eager!

Saturday, March 31st 2007, I went to the city early in the morning so I could attend the STUDENT ACCEPTANCE ORIENTATION at Parsons. Can I say how thrilled I was to go? I don’t think I need to explain, but in case you don’t get the picture. Imagine the sensation of having an orgasm and magnify it by a million =)

I got to see a glimpse of the kids I’d be collaborating with next year, and I learned a lot of new things. I think I’m going to direct-entry Design & Technology because the chair woman strongly encouraged it, which I don’t mind because that takes away three drawing courses that would’ve made me sick to my stomach. I’ll still be learning some key essentials, but the classes will be more focused for my major…which isn’t a bad deal right?

The only negative side to that is I don’t get to meet all the kids from ALL the majors, which is something I really want to have. A relationship with all the mediums of the school…but I’m allowed to have an elective, and one of them can be a foundation class instead of DT. So that might happened…if not, I’m taking French.

And I’ve been guaranteed $32,000 in financial aid from the school, so that makes me happy. I’m hoping to get scholarships to pay for the rest ($48,000), so we’ll see =) I told my mother and she basically told my entire family on her side and they all called me to congratulate me and they’re so proud. Haha. My step-father watns to celebrate this tuesday, so I don’t know what that entails but it sounds really nice. And my father is really happy too, so things are going so well!

Oh, I’m on break now btw.

After the event at Parsons I met up with Jilly <33 and some of her friends, and we decided to have a picnic in Union Square. We bought a bag of pretzels, a loaf of pumpkin bread, a brownie slice and a bottle of blush wine. It was nice, and it was cute. It was probably illegal but we didn’t care!

Then they had to leave, so I met up with Tristian and we went to see Factory Girl. Which is a really good movie, I liked it a lot. Showed me a lot about Andy Warhol and Edith Segwick (sp?). It was a lot of fun but I had to run to catch a train.

I get to go pay respects at a cemetary…hurray! -gags-

I don’t know the song, but the lyrics sound pretty cool.

I also don’t know the school (Parsons), but congrats on getting in.

And trust, you’ll get to meet lots of different people in college. LOTS.

Agh, I want to see “Factory Girl” so badly, but almost no one in IN is playing it. GRAH. The Parsons event sounds awesome, as does direct-entry. Love ya muchly (each day).

Ahh, I’m gonna have to find the song and listen to it now. And yes Disney movies LIE!! It’s really sad how we all grow up watching movies and thinking love is one thing and then in the real world we all are shattered when we finally realize love is far from a Disney classic. If only love could be that way! ;) Congrats on getting in!! That’s a lot of money but usually the best schools are! And I’m glad you had fun with your friends! Take care!

If MySpace didn’t take so long to load on this computer, I’d listen to it. It sounds really interesting.

It would have been nice if Disney didn’t toy with our minds and just told us how it really is. But I supposed we all learn from our own mistakes.

Congrats on getting into Parsons. I hope you enjoy yourself there.

I like thos lyrics. I must go and check out the artist, and hear the song. I’ve never heard of parson’s, but congrats on getting in. it’s always an achievement getting into a school. the financial aid sounds wonderful I wish my uni offered me some, it’d really have come in handy.

I’m a big fan of phantom of the opera. it’s one of my favourites. in addition I have also seen, cats, sound of music, rent, pippin, guys and dolls, joseph and the techniclour dreamcoat… and I’ve seen more, but that’s all that comes to mind. ah, I’ve seen Hair as well. I have a collection of programmes, but they’re in the other room and I just got comfy. I just love seeing musicals/music related things in general. I’d love to be in shows, but my singing skills are somewhat lacking :(
